If your going to br gaming a lot you will definitely want a desktop. Is there a certain price range you have in mind?

A desktop is the best choice for you as that you would want to have a computer that lasts you for at least 5 years so that you do not have buy another computer for the time being. So yeah. In addition, I would recommend that you get yourself a computer that is built by yourself so that you will be the first to know what is the problem with your computer when there is a problem.

Recommendation for your new computer

Softwares:
- CCleaners
- FileShredder
- Revo Uninstaller
- Either Norton, Kerp, or AVG antivirus software

I recommended those software so that you can keep your computer healthy and that it would keep your computer clean. Keep in mind that you should do disk de-fragmentation on a periodic cycle so that your computer can run on a more efficient manner.

In addition to the software, you must make sure that you have good spacing between your hardware so that they don't overheat and lower the performance of your computer.

In all, happy shopping.

You mean you want to buy complete desktop? Or make one yourself?
If you gonna make it yourself,it is 30% cheaper (of course if you will torrent windows and will not spend money buying windows OS.)
for 500-600$ US you can makeyourself very good gaming PC. But if you going to buy complete one in the store for 600$ it will be so-so.
There are many videos on youtube on how to build cheap gaming PC http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mlVjzpadWZI for exmple. I thnk its SPanish speaking video since he speaks with a lisp. But it will give you an idea. Just type on youtube Gaming PC por 500$ or por 600$. You will see many videos. But its only if you want to make one yourself
