New Gaming Rig Build

#1
Hey BsK Community!

I'm currently researching information about building my own gaming rig.  I am a nub when it comes to building computers so I'd love to hear any advice and personal experiences with certain products.  I am looking to build a desktop that will be able to run most PC games with no difficulty, as well as run CS GO at max FPS.  My budget is $800-900.  The games I do play or will play are CS 1.6, CS GO, Starcraft, Final Fantasy and several MMORPG games, Overwatch...etc.

I have spoke with a couple friends and sort of have a set up in mind, but I'm willing to hear pros and cons and new advice****.

Any advice, opinions or input would be greatly appreciated.

Go with Intel i7 and a decent graphics card. You need at least a GTX 970 or your pc won't last more than 2 years.

The price difference between the i5 and i7 is big.  Purchasing the i7 would cause me to go over budget, and from most of my research the differences in gameplay wouldn't be worth the extra money.

You could buy the processor intel i7 changing that graphics card, as said spirit u can get an GTX 970 4GB, is more cheap and u could play those games without any problem. That's opinion, good luck with your purchase.

So it seems both of you feel the i7 is the most important piece to a a gaming computer. How much of a difference in gameplay do you think there would be between a i5 and i7?  Also the 2 video cards that I picked out are both out of stock now, so any suggestions on a different video card? I'm looking to spend between $250-$300 on a video card.
