Help me Decide !!!

Hey guys I'm looking to buy a new laptop since my old one got torn into pieces. I need a decent machine with enough gaming power to run most of the games that are out in the market. Battlefield 3 on medium settings will be fine to set standard as it runs on frostbite engine which is pretty cool in my view.

Here are the must have things.

• Dedicated graphics
  
• Intel core i7 or AMD equivalent
  
• Blueray reader and writer if possible but reader is fine.
  
• 17inch screen
  

My budget is $1500 CAD. Please don't suggest me to buy desktop as I need to have laptop for my college work and no alien-ware please they are way too overpriced in my view.

Bro you should look at what you really want.
Details like a core i7 or i5 makes a huge difference.
The i5 certainly satisfies their need with games and is much cheaper.
In my case I use a i3 for me is excellent.
Most online games do not require much of your video card.
But thinking about the future is good to have a good board.
I like racing games utimamente the graphics are very good.
Because of this I need a good video card.

If you use your computer normally like most.
I indicate a core i5 or i3.
A video card 1gb ddr3. (must look up values​​). If it is too expensive 500Mb.
If really necessary 1Q hd if not 500GB.
Remember that the hds soared in price.
I would advise only Blu Ray player.

Lero what you said is true. But even you say that looking for future is good and I agree that i5 is good enough for gaming but you should consider that you won't get the same performance from a laptop's processor as compared to desktop.

With that being said I did a little research and found that frostbite engine which is the best gaming engine in my knowledge would not perform at its best on an i5. I'm not the guy who wants every cool toy out in the market but instead wants to have a solid machine. As for the blue ray is considered even I think that i can save some money by excluding it. I need at least 1gb graphic card as it is laptop and I wont be able to add anything later. I personally prefer AMD cards over Nvidia. What do you think ?

As for the processor I did not take into account the working temperature that's important to you.
As for the video both chips are good. You should buy a board with a manufacturer that has a good reputation, I like the Gforce. Take into account the working temperature and the cost and benefit, in my opinion is what differentiates both. Do not forget to see the "clock".

Why do not you buy a netbook for work.
And riding a desktop for gaming.
