let me make something very very clear.... Anyone above you is your superior. If you are told anything by anybody from demo reviewer and up then that is who you listen to. all the guys who answered your post are your superiors and they have the authority to say and do what needs to be done. please don't disrespect them by saying you don't have to listen to them, because you do.
