Hey, I just wanted to officially introduce myself and say hi. I am Zion and here is a short bit about me and why I find myself posting here now:
I first discovered CS shortly after the launch of 1.6/steam, and with some friends immediately started playing in leagues (cal) and finding scrims. I played competitively on and off with a couple different teams and eventually made it up to cal-m before some ping issues and other games (quake, starcraft) got in the way and I pretty much stopped playing cs entirely.
Recently, my cousin got me thinking a lot about CS (talking about the upcoming CS:GO) and it made us want to play 1.6 again, so I went on a server hunt and found your classic server.
It was the ONLY server I could find that did not grant 16k every round, while allowing awps, and had smoke grenades enabled (sadly the smokes are gone now, but thats okay xD). Apparently anything close to default settings are extremely rare these days, so I immediately declared that this was the best server on the internet.
Not only that, but the admins have been really smart about not banning players just for being good, and actually spectating and confirming a hacker before doing anything.
