That was probably one of the most Intelligent, well thought out articulate posts I have ever read Blink.

I totally disagree, But that certainly does not make your opinion any less intelligent. Nice post Bro.

Oh the credit is not mine, it's this guy whos blog I accidentally found. Don't know anything about him but I love the way he puts everything together plus there are many sophisticated comments.it's not only ukrain he writes about what's important, before this he was writing about the Middle East.
But thanks. I hope that by looking at the problem from different sides we would get closer to truth

The situation in the Ukraine has taken a very sharp turn for the worse.

1) Two Presidential candidates from the eastern part of the country were assaulted yesterday by Ukie brownshirts. Mikhail Dobkin got away with only paint and flour thrown at him, but reports say that his bodyguard were hurt. Oleg Tsarev got severely beaten, however, and barely escaped the Right Sector lynch mob. No doubt, this will not prevent the "democratic West" from concluding that the elections were free and fair.

2) A mob of Right Sector activists surrounded the Parliament building in Kiev and accused the regime in power of incompetence and indecision in its repression of the eastern Ukraine. The Right Sector wants weapons do "close down the border with Russia and deal with the insurrection in the East". After some negotiations they gave the so-called "President" 24 hours to yield to their demands. Iulia Tymoshenko was so frightened that she apparently declared that the Right Sector might seize power.

3) The "anti-terrorist" operation has now clearly begun. Several towns and at least one airport in the East have been stormed by pro-regime forces. Combats are reported from many parts of the region.

4) In the meantime, the EU and the USA are preparing another round of sanctions against Russia.

5) Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov has announced that if the regime in Kiev uses violence the talks scheduled for this Thursday in Geneva will be scrapped.

6) Putin called Obama and they had diplomats often call a "frank and lively exchange of views"

I agree. I go through a lot of sources of information. Thus I believe some truth can be found. The civil war in ukrain has officially started. West of Ukrain uses force against East calling them terrorists. Everyone is afraid now, Russia will make a move to "protect" the East. Or maybe somebody WANTS Russia to move

Update of the events:

Washington approves the use of force to stop the uprisings. When asked if they considered the eastern people "terrorists", the answer was "Names dont matter. They are rebels from Russia and must be stopped"

Russian Ministery of Foreign Affairs and president Putin contacted Euro Union asking to condemn Kiev's order to use force and to stop the killings of people.

So far Russia doesn't make any military moves and tries to reason with western officials

Update of the events:

It's really hard to figure out what's going on in Ukraine these hours, there are a lot of rumors and fewer facts.

It is known that some military units sent by the Kiev's government to stop the "terrorists" have either switched sides and joined the protesters or have been convinced to give up and return. After one of those encounters, 6 IFV's (Infantry Fighting Vehicles) were handed over to the people the army was originally ordered to shoot at.

In my opinion it will be the best outcome if the whole "anti-terrorist" operation ends this way - bloodless. Kiev's reaction is unclear, their news - misleading. First they've said the vehicles were stolen, then that it was some undercover operation to pass through the enemies lines (thus the vehicles were flying Russian flags), now they claim the IFV's were captured by the pro-Russians.

Today Geneve held a 4-sided talks between Ukrain, UN, USA and Russia regarding the situation in Ukraine.

Their results could be summarized as:

1) Kiev has agreed to negotiate with the East.
2) All illegal armed groups will have to disarm (that was already agreed between ex president Yanukovich and the EU).
3) OSCE monitors will be dispatched to the East to monitor the situation.
4) Kiev has committed to legal reforms for greater autonomy.
5) The Crimea has not even been discussed.
6) The EU has accepted Putin's proposal to discuss gas deliveries.
7) Nobody will face prosecution except for major crimes.

It is an achievement because neither Ukraine nor Russia wanted to talk to each other: Russia seeing Ukraine's government as illegitimate and pro-nazi, Ukraine seeing Russia as a threat after loosing Crimea region last month. Hopefully the Ukrainian crisis will start going down from now on.

Vladimir Putin today held his annual 4-hour live conference where any Russian citizen can call or make a video with a question to the president and get an answer directly from him. One of the callers was... Edward Snowden lol

Situation is still crazy. Eastern protesters don't want to give up the government buildings they've occupied and there is information of attacks and acts of violence against them perfomed by kievs right sector thugs. The military is still in the area and they're shooting in the air when weapon-less civilians try to stop them with bare hands.
Here's a video of a Kiev's nationalist humiliating a guy making him say "Glory to Ukraine" before throwing him down the bridge:
