Decreasing the PING - LAG

#1
Wink
List of commands to reduce ping, lag and increase FPS

fastsprites 1
fps_max 999
fps_modem 999
gl_max_size 256
r_decals 0
r_drawviewmodel 1
r_dynamic 0
r_mirroralpha 0
r_mmx 1
a developer
cl_rate 7500
cl_cmdrate 13
cl_updaterate 13
r_decals 0
mp_decals 0
cl_showfps 1
mp_decals 0
7500 rate
cl_allowupload 0
cl_allowdowload 0
cl_weather 0
hud_fastswitch 1
net_graph 3
a developer
cl_lc 1
cl_lw 1
5000 rate
cl_updaterate 30
cl_cmdrate 30

Now this text we will explain below:

First, let us understand the commands that I will cover in this tutorial:
rate = Bytes per second limit you will receive from the server
cl_updaterate = packets per second that you will ask the server
cl_rate = bytes per second limit that you will send pro server
cl_cmdrate = packets per second sent to the server

Note: Byte is one of the smallest units of existing data, equivalent to 1000 bytes 1kb (kilo byte) and 1000KB (1000000 bytes) is equivalent to 1MB (mega byte) and so on

Now go down the console, and type

Code:

net_graph 3

Some information will appear in the lower right corner of the screen ... If you want to remove them just put "net_graph 0"
From this information you will set their rates to improve your game ....

Let's understand them:

Choke: The server is slow to respond. You need to lower their requests for information, or search for a better server.

Loss: You are responding less than you can. You might want to send less data packets than their net can then loss occurs. To alleviate this, adjust the rate (increasing value) to the closest possible sv_maxrate the server (to base, increase the rate, if any choke you now, then decrease q d way you have not loss), or increase the cl_updaterate and cl_cmdrate to try to reduce the loss.

Packet (packet): A discrete part of the transmission on the net, the packet size varies on how many are going.

Ping: Time in milliseconds it takes you to reach the server. On the internet, things work well, you send data packets to a host and that host replies are sent, the time that all packets take to reach this host, and return to your pc is called ping.
If you are sending or receiving packets over, and your net can not handle so many, some of them will be lost then occurred to choke, you need to adjust it as above. If you are sending or receiving packets less than their net is able to handle his net had been "vague", and then loss occurred. Then you adjust the loss as mentioned above as well.
For you can adjust your ping, you have to set their rates for sending so many packets can when your net, and as many as the server can receive, and ask as many packages as you can get, or the sending server. Creating harmony in sending and receiving data.
